Jose Rojas, 86, of Fort Worth, Texas died quietly in bed at his home in Denton, Texas on October 16, 2013. He was born in Queens, New York on February 9, 1927, the son of Maria Mercedes Munoz and Jose Antonio Rojas. He was preceded in death in 2009 by his beloved wife Gloria Manjarrez Rojas who he was devoted to during her last years. They were married in Mexico City, Mexico in 1950.

He is survived by his son, George A. Rojas, Daughter-in-law Mindy Sue, and Grandchildren Lynzi (16) and Jackson (14) of Flower Mound, Texas.

Mr. Rojas was proud of his service in both the Army and the Air Force from which he retired in Fort Worth, Texas. He was honored with the Purple Heart medal for his action in the Korean War. He then went to sales and became a nationally recognized sales representative for Overseas Motors of Fort Worth. He then opened up his own business, Imex, importing furniture from Central America. He subsequently went to work for Consignee from where he retired. He was a devoted Catholic and dedicated to the church. He lived in Fort Worth until February of 2012 when he relocated closer to family in Denton.

His interests included automobiles, fine furniture and art. He enjoyed playing tennis when he was younger. In his later years, spending time with his close friends, family, and his grandchildren were his priority.

Friends and family may come to pay respects to Jose at the Flower Mound Funeral Home, 3550 Firewheel Drive, Flower Mound, Texas, 972-691-2802 on Sunday, November 10, from 5 - 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association.
