Our Angel took flight to his destination in Glory on Saturday afternoon, November 16, 2013. Don closed his eyes and moved on to a greater life. He was born April 3, 1922 in Tioga, Texas and served during WWII in the US Army.
Not one for following crowds, Don marched to the beat of a great family man. He met and married Dorothy Stricklin on December 23, 1940. The two became best friends for over sixty years. One could easily recognize that unmistakable laugh and the jolly man that he was. He lived life with the philosophy "Find ways to help others."
This jolly man's memory will live in the hearts of his family forever.
Don's family will receive friends at 10:00 am, Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013 at the Slay Memorial Chapel in Aubrey. Following at 11:00 am, there will be a celebration of his life.
Consoled by the thought of seeing him and hearing that laugh again are those who loved him unconditionally; his daughter, Lois Ann Moore and her husband GA; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children.
Services are under the direction of Terri Slay and Slay Memorial Funeral Center, Aubrey.
