Henry Virgle "H.V." O'Bryant, Jr., 75, of Denton, died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton.

Henry was born on January 26, 1938 in Bandera, TX to Henry Virgle, Sr. and Lillie Loretta (Brown) O'Bryant. He was married to Gale Marlene Allen on March 9, 1984 in Denton, TX. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Shady Shores Baptist Church. He worked for many years as the manager of the Sacred Choral Music Department at Pender's Music Store in Denton; he had also worked as a chaplain at the Mexia State School and directed the choir "Sunshine Singers" as they travelled all over the country. He served on staff at churches in Dallas, Pasadena, Seguin, Smithville, Mexia and Denton. He was a member of the Stanfield Masonic Lodge #217 of Denton and was a Mason of the 32nd degree.

He is survived by his wife, Gale O'Bryant of Denton; daughter, Nanell Neal and her husband Scott of Mont Belvieu; stepdaughter, Sherri Adelstein of Denton; sons, Chuck O'Bryant of Palacios, Randy O'Bryant and his wife Kathy of Mexia; stepson, Scott Bell and his wife Jeannie of Phoenix; sister, Louise Bumpass of Granite Shoals; six grandchildren, Mandi Masters, Janelle Hunter, Chad O'Bryant, Joshua Neal, David Neal, Matthew Farguson; four great-grandchildren, Raylee, Paisley, Journey, Jaxon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Aundee Kirkindall and Mildred Gulley and daughter-in-law, Tanya O'Bryant.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St., Denton, TX. Rev. Bob Joyce will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
