Billie Rhea Riney, 88, of Pilot Point, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014, in Denton, TX. She was born January 20, 1926, in Celina, TX, to Clarence and Grace (Vick) Biggs. She worked at Haggar Slacks, Texas Instruments, threw papers for the Dallas Morning News, and had her beautician license. She married John Riney in 1964 and moved to Arkansas where they lived for 25 years. She was an active member of the Catholic Church in Alma, AR, and served many roles in the Disabled American Veterans. She was an excellent seamstress, an outstanding quilt maker, and a great cook. It gave her joy to share her quilts with each family member.
She is survived by her son, Carl Hagle of Las Cruces, NM; a daughter, Linda Vest of Celina; a sister, Patsy Ruth Mitchell of McKinney; six granddaughters, Marilyn Frisk of Celina, Laura Hagle of Las Vegas, NV, Tracy Boehmer of Gilbert, AZ, Amy Lucero of Las Cruces, NM, Sandy Ringwood of Las Cruces, NM, Geneva Chandler of Orlando, FL; two grandsons, Buster Vest of Celina and Buddy Vest of Celina; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, John Riney; two brothers, James Collins Biggs and Sidney Lynn Biggs; three sisters, Frances Harlan, Elizabeth Fore, and Jo Taylor.
Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 6, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00A.M. at the church with Fr. Tom Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery.
