E.W. Belcher, 90, of Sanger, passed away Wednesday April 2, 2014, at the Corinth Rehabilitation Suites in Corinth, Texas.

E.W. was born July 25, 1923, in Greenwood, Texas, to Harmon and Alice Belcher. He married Wanda Mitchell in Texarkana, Texas, on October 19, 1946. She preceded him in death July 30, 2013. In 1956 E.W. founded E. W. Belcher Trucking Co., Inc. In 1980 he established B7 Ranch in Sanger, Texas.

E.W. was a veteran of the US Army, a Mason with the Stanfield Masonic Lodge #217, and a member of the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

E.W. is survived by five children - daughters Betty Belcher of Denton; Becky Smith and husband Rick of Sanger; Beverly Hawkins of Denton; sons Brian Belcher and wife Judy of Sanger; and Brad Belcher and wife Kathy of Denton; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Lucy Belcher of Sanger and Melba Belcher of Ft. Worth. He is also survived by an extended family of nieces and nephews, and the many friends he made during his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, five sisters, and one grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 4th, at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger, Texas. A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, April 5th, at 10:00 a.m. at Sanger Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider honoring E.W.'s memory by helping someone in need or by making a memorial contribution to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Shriners Hospital in Galveston, or the charity of your choice.
