Wesley Leon Brinlee was born January 27, 1940, in Telephone, TX, to Austin Franklin Brinlee and Mary Katherine (Clinton) Brinlee. He passed away April 20, 2014, at the Integrity Transitional Hospital, Denton, TX, after a long illness.

Leon was raised in the West Texas area attending school in Lubbock until he joined the Navy at the age of 17. He received an honorable discharge after serving 4 years.

He was an upholstery/fabricator by trade, and worked in the Dallas area most of his life. He loved and took pride in his work. A few of his favorites included fishing, yard work, being creative, and piddling.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Lonnie Weldon Brinlee and Austin Ardale (Dale) Brinlee; and sisters Bonnie Helen Barkley, Willie Katherine (Kay) Thomas, and Barbara Dean (Bobbi) Logan.

Survivors include his wife Virginia (Miss Jenney) Jeffery-Brinlee of the home; sons Wesley Allen Brinlee of Denton, TX, and Chad Aaron Brinlee and wife Becky of Bells, TX; step-son Willis Glen Jeffery and wife Melanie of Ninnekah, OK; and grandchildren Kayla, Wesley Allen Jr., and Emma Brinlee, and Ariel and Gracie Jeffery.

Funeral services will be at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Chapel, 740 S. Edmonds, Lewisville, TX, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., with visitation following the service from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
