Jerry Dwain Kline, 56 of Argyle TX, a 10 year brain cancer survivor, passed away May 8, 2014 at his home in Argyle. Jerry was an encouraging, hard-working and faith-filled man, who used his trials to honor God and give hope to countless people around the world. His first tumor was discovered in January of 2004. Since then, he fought through seven recurrences and two surgeries while giving hope to others facing similar circumstances. His story is memorialized in his book, "An Unremarkable Man." Although we are saddened by Jerry's passing, we celebrate that he is with our Lord.

Jerry graduated from Richardson High School in 1976 and Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1980. His professional career included time with Raytheon, Texas Instruments, Micro ASI, and Elbit Systems of America. Jerry holds six patents and helped develop the multiple missile launch system and weapons interface for the Apache Helicopter. Jerry served on the Board of Directors of the Legacy Brain Foundation and supported orphans in Moldova through Children's Emergency Relief International (CERI).

The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX for visitation on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2pm at Cross Timbers Community Church in Argyle, TX with Rev. Toby Slough officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, TX.

Jerry married Kathy Mapes in 1983 and is survived by her and their five children Andrew Dwain (25), Aaron Daniel (23), Austin David (21), Aimee Elizabeth (20), Aric Benjamin (17); mother Betty Reston Kline of Dallas; brother David and his wife Linda of Weatherford; uncle Harold Reston and his wife Sherry of Tyler; father-in-law Russel Mapes and his wife Mary of Tomball; in-laws Becky and Warren Obenland, Debby and Terry Vance, Steve Mapes, Dan and Charis Mapes, Sarah Russ, Joanna Wurtz; and nieces and nephews Holly Kline, Christopher Obenland, Jonathan Obenland, Timothy Obenland, Jeremy McKey, Joanna Clem, Michelle Bell, Aaron Powell, Russel Mapes, Vera Mapes, Dorothy Mapes, Trudie Mapes, Eli Mapes, David Mapes, Charity Mapes, Grace Mapes, Hannah Mapes, Nathan Russ, Bethany Ash, Steven Mapes, Roxie Wurtz, Emaline Wurtz, Zachary Wurtz, and Noel Wurtz. Jerry is preceded in death by his father Dwain Chester Kline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Legacy Brain Foundation or CERI.
