Linda Christine (Marcum) Baxter of Denton, Texas was born in Wild, Wonderful West Virginia in the city of Logan. She was born a coal miner's daughter to Raymond Floyd Marcum and Mary Magdalene Pritchard. She was the oldest of six children. She was peacefully called home to be with our Lord and her son, on Wednesday, May 7, 2014.

Linda "Chris" Baxter never met a stranger and helped anyone she could. Her children, grandchildren and family were the most important things in her life. She was the Director of Public Relations for Martin Paul Inc. of Denton for over twenty-five years. She was a member of the Wednesday Study Club since 1997, a part of the Texas Federation Women's Club. She was named Outstanding Club Woman of the Year from the Pioneer District in 2002. She loved life and lived it to the fullest and she did it her way. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Ms. Baxter was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Marcum, her brothers Michael and Rex Marcum, all of West Virginia, her niece Chastity Marcum of West Virginia, her loving companion for over thirty years, Paul Belokin of Denton, Texas and her beloved son, Timothy Patrick Baxter, of Krum, Texas who left us twenty days ago on April 17, 2014.

She is survived by her strong, Irish Mother, Mary Marcum of Kentucky, her sisters Cathy Ulmanek of Arizona, Sheila Ratcliff of Kentucky and Tammy Johnson of West Virginia. Her daughters, Maria Jones of Aubrey, Texas and Valerie Baxter of North Pole, Alaska, her favorite nieces Tiffany, Amanda Christine, Marybeth, Laura and Angie, several great nieces and one great nephew, and her adored grandchildren, Sean Jones of Denton, Texas, Eric Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada and Christina Baxter of Krum, Texas.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held on Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00am at DeBerry Funeral Chapel in Denton.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to her granddaughter, Christina Michelle Baxter at Northstar Bank in Krum.
