Dorothy Fitch Brooks, born October 27, 1924, in Floydada, Texas, to Georgia Carmen DeSpain and Victor Fitch, passed away June 5, 2014, in Denton, Texas, with many family members by her side. Dorothy graduated from North Texas State Teachers College in 1944. Dorothy worked as a secretary at Camp Howze which included taking notes while German prisoners of World War II were interrogated. She later worked for the superintendent of Denton ISD.

Dorothy married Theo Brooks, Jr., (Ted) on April 22, 1945, at the Little Chapel in the Woods. That was the beginning of her career as an Air Force Officer's wife which provided the opportunity for extensive domestic and foreign travel while raising a family. Ted preceded her in death in 1984. Dorothy was the youngest of five girls. Her four sisters Victorene (Sissy), Kathryn (Tiny), Helen (Hun), and Frances (Chub) also preceded her in death.

Dorothy and Ted returned to Denton in 1964 after he retired from the Air Force. They rejoined Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church and were life-long members. Dorothy enjoyed her membership in the Presbyterian's Women's Association and various Circle groups and was honored with a Lifetime Member designation. She loved playing bridge, tennis, golf, participating in Red Hats, going to the horse races, and traveling with her sisters and friends. She especially enjoyed family reunions.

Survivors include her daughter Marilyn Boots and husband Dennis, daughter Barbara Brooks, and son Brian Brooks and wife Kathy; grandchildren David Boots and wife Andrea, Rachel Torralba and husband Jose, Kathryn Porter and husband Pete, Kierstin Rusk, Megan Fischer and husband Blake, and Sam Brooks; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews she was always very fond of, and many, many dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew this proud Texas woman.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 10, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Drive, Denton, Texas 76201.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak Street, Denton, Texas 76201. The Reverend Lisa Patterson will officiate.

Memorials may be given in honor to Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church.
