Gene E. Franks, "Poncho" or "Red," of Springtown, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 16, 2014. He was born June 27, 1963, in Denton, Texas.

Gene served in the U.S. Army as a Building Engineer. After his service with the Army he worked as a Building Supervisor at Home Depot in Weatherford, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Becky Franks; three sons, Jeremy Don, Rickey Max, Michael Gene; one daughter, Nicole Dawn; two step-sons, Justin Glynn, Patrick Eugene; a sister, Shelly Chapa; a brother, Gary Franks; mother, Judy Garcia; and many family and friends that loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles S. Franks, and a brother, Tony D. Franks.

A memorial and celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Northlakes Park, Pavilion One, officiated by his wife Becky Franks.
