Randal Wade Wallace, 47, passed away on July 1, 2014 in Denton, Texas. Although born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on November 9, 1966, Randy was raised in Roswell, New Mexico. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico and his master's of library and information science from the University of North Texas, where he worked in the Eagle Commons Library.
Randy loved his children and enjoyed every moment they spent together. He was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and considered a 2000 trip to a Giants game one of the best times of his life. He also loved craft beer, all kinds of games, kayaking on Lake Ray Roberts, serving the patrons of the UNT libraries, and his talkative cat, Aphrodite.
He leaves behind his children, Annie and Tad Wallace; his sisters, Janet Harris of New Braunfels, Texas, and Jerri Newton, of Cedar Park, Texas; and his brother, Michael Wallace, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A celebration of his life will take place at a future date. People wishing to honor his memory may donate in his name to the Denton Animal Shelter Foundation.
