Mary Louise Tarbet, 80, of Denton, Texas, died peacefully at her daughter's home on Sunday, July 20, 2014. Much loved and a friend to many, Mary was always up for an adventure and sought after both truth and beauty. Mary faced adversity and fought the good fight. She was a devoted mother to her children, a hard worker, and the most loyal of friend. Mary was an office manager at Reynolds, Fruchtendler, and Wheeler Elementary Schools in the Tucson Unified School District. She took pride in running an efficient office. After retiring, she served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Geneological Library in New York City, winning over the gruff New Yorkers with her cheerful personality and bright smile. Special thanks to La'Porsche at Vitas as well as Nelvi for their loving care.

Predeceased by brothers Jack O'Keefe and Jim O'Keefe, and her sister Laura Anderson. Mary is survived by her daughter, Mardi Tarbet McKenney (Mel) of Denton, TX; and son Thomas Michael Tarbet of Fort Worth, TX.

A visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4501 Teasley Lane, Denton, on Thursday, July 24, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at the same location on Friday, July 25, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Denton Humane Society, P.O. Box 1972, Denton, TX 76202, or the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85716. Arrangements made by Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors.
