Twas the day before Christmas and all through the land, shoppers were running, lists snug in their hand. Filled with the wishes of both young and old,
Every item request seemingly already sold.
Off we travel from shopping mall to store
Fighting with large crowds and cars galore.
Johnny must have that green mutant turtle,
Susanna has hopes for a Furby in purple.
Dad has his eye on a new electric saw
While Mom won’t mention anything at all.
’Tis the season of filling under the tree
The perfect gifts for everyone to see.
And so we go on — on us it depends
Only hours to go before this day ends.
For tomorrow is when the big day is here
And everyone awakens in hopes and good cheer.
If you happen to see us as you rush in and out,
Be sure to stop and give us a shout.
We’ll be right there with you on this Eve
Searching for hours without much reprieve.
It’s part of the season to find the best gift
To give all of our loved ones a holiday lift.
Happy Christmas shopping to one and all.
May your list be finished ’fore nightfall.
