Obama on the air
I notice that President Obama has started to appear on regular television programs trying to seem like a caring and concerned fellow.
On 60 Minutes, he even suggested that his accomplishments were comparable or better than three past presidents, thus establishing himself as at least the fourth best president.
The three mentioned were Johnson, FDR and Lincoln.
Just off the top of my head I wondered about names like Washington, Kennedy and Reagan. Then, in context, I realized there were actually 43 names ahead of Obama.
I wanted to say something about Vice President Biden's reference to al-Qaida not being our enemy but I think that buffoonery stands on its own.
On the buffoonery note, Donald Trump comes to mind. I notice he's getting a lot of air time but always says the same thing: "China is cheating us." Trying to compete by taxing Chinese products won't accomplish anything other than raising prices.
On a less important note, I notice, John Nance Garner [letters, Dec. 24] thinks it takes a drunk to recognize a drunk. As he appears to have the inside track on that, I'll defer all drunk questions to him.
There only appeared to be a couple of reporters, in a room full of people, who decided Rick Perry appeared drunk. One wonders what their motivation was.
Perhaps those reporters were the only other drunks there.
