Why did you listen?

Why did you come to listen to Jesus? Did you come to listen because he said love your fellow man? Or did you come to listen because he changed water into wine?

Did you come to listen because he said care for the elderly? Or did you come to listen because he raised a man from the dead?

Did you come to listen because he said care for the sick? Or did you come to listen because he multiplied the fishes and loaves?

Did you come to listen because he said care for the children and widows? Or did you come because he walked on water?

Did you come to listen because he said care for the crippled and visit prisoners? Or did you come to listen because he promised you “eternal life?”

Remember, Jesus performed these miracles and said these things to get you to listen, to listen to his message to love your fellow man, something that’s pretty hard to do unless somebody is enticing you.

Jim Stodola,

Denton
