As a retired middle-class, law-abiding, tax-paying, gun-owning average citizen, I can’t think of a single freedom that the government has taken away from me other than the security rules involved with flying, which are understandable.
The right talks about loss of freedom and enslavement by our government, I don’t get it. I don’t mind paying taxes, although I have a long list of government tax expenditures that I don’t agree with, probably a much different list than my friends on the right.
And I’m just as frustrated as anyone with our politicians in Austin and Washington, but what type of paranoid life are you people living that you find the government so intrusive that you fear enslavement by our government?
