Second thoughts

The Denton County Republican Party advertised in the DRC for fairness. The elected GOP representatives combined their efforts, asking for civility and fairness in the spring election cycle.

That’s pretty hilarious coming from Ms. [Dianne] Edmondson [Denton County Republican Party chairwoman] who sent out an e-mail calling Wendy Davis “Abortion Barbie,” minimizing all other issues facing Texans.

She’s the same one who asked Ted Cruz to bring his tea party crazy to Denton County. You know, the guy who shut down our federal government for his partisan ego-maniacal purposes, trying to wrest affordable health care from my hands.

These same folks decided it was a good idea to bring Ted Nugent to town to speak to the DCRP, firing up the hate and anger. Nugent’s slander of the president includes “subhuman mongrel.”

What these folks don’t understand is that Texas isn’t a red state, it’s a nonvoting state. The Texas GOP has worked hard to keep more folks from voting, while opening the doors for it to be easier to buy an election.

If you disagree, then tell me why the students can’t use a state-issued ID to vote. Have you applied to a state university lately? Certified copy of birth certificate, Social Security number, etc. … If they don’t know it’s you, no one does. More information is needed than for a concealed handgun license.

We’ll see how kind and fair these same folks are between now and November.

I guess members of the DCRP are having second thoughts about their words and associations and that they’ll come back to confront them.

Nat Moore,
