The Denton Record-Chronicle reports [June 28] that 7,000 signatures have been delivered to City Hall by “more than a dozen local bar owners and other volunteers” petitioning for an election to make Denton “wet.”
This would allow “regular” bars and liquor stores within the city limits.
The big carrot for voters is supposed to be about $700,000 in annual sales tax revenue for the city of Denton (not to mention more profits for the owners of the bars and liquor stores).
They want us all to vote in favor of more drunks throwing up on our streets and sidewalks and more drunken drivers maiming and killing our residents.
What a wonderful and exciting vision for our dear city.
