Stop bullying

Bullying has been in the news a lot lately. It is usually about school-age kids.

Also in the news lately are people who disagree with the beliefs of Mr. Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A.

This is America, and people are free to believe the way they want. If you don’t agree with him, don’t eat at his restaurant. Anything else is bullying.

Linda Baker,

Show some tolerance

We had great support for Chick-fil-A and its common-sense and or biblical beliefs on marriage.

That was a big contrast to Friday, where only five people protested in Denton; that is quite minuscule compared to Chick-fil-A’s supporters. I spoke with the five protesters for several minutes; one person was cordial but the others were ill-informed and petulant.

They seemed to ignore the fact that our First Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

All folks do not have to share the same belief, only show a little tolerance for your fellow citizens.

This is the atmosphere that allows freedom and gives America strength.

We should all be thankful that there are laws protecting the citizens from such fascist mayors like those in Boston and Chicago who tried to misuse their positions to intimidate a lawful business.

Many left-minded souls are infected by moral relativism; not concerned with what is right or wrong; but using whatever tactics to achieve their twisted goals.

The left has become increasingly anti-American since the Obama regime and constantly attacks the First Amendment.

There will always be wannabe dictators, so Americans must be vigilant in protecting our freedoms.

Electing Ted Cruz and other conservatives is the essential step in that direction.
