Strange assertion

A letter to the editor [DRC, Sept. 28] asserted that Republicans want to repeal Obamacare out of loyalty to special interests like the insurance companies.

This is a strange assertion since the insurance companies were strong supporters of the law, figuring that they will gain millions of new policyholders.

It also said that “the 85 percent of Americans who already have health care coverage will not be impacted by the new law.”

This is an echo of the lie that “you can keep your policy if you like it.”

Many are already experiencing the opposite with their employers dropping coverage or changing it to comply with the law.

Meanwhile, the Democrats approve of Obama’s illegal postponement of the employer mandate for big business, but they won’t vote for a similar delay for individuals.

They also won’t vote to reinforce the law’s requirement that Congress and its staff be subject to the same rules as ordinary individuals, which Obama also illegally waived.
