Letters to the Editor, October 26

The Denton Record-Chronicle welcomes letters from our readers about the Denton school district’s $312 million bond package. To be considered for publication, letters must be in our office by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28. No letters about the bond election will be published after Saturday, Nov. 2.

Vote yes for school bonds

As a resident of the Denton school district in the eastern “380 Corridor,” I want to make sure that everyone is aware of the Nov. 5 Denton school district bond election.

All school bonds are important for the education of our children and the future of our community. However, this election is personally very important to me and my neighbors.

We are grateful for the wonderful schools our children attend, including Ryan and Denton high schools. That being said, we are very anxious to have a high school closer to our community.

I personally have a daughter who spends up to two hours on the bus every day going to and from high school.

Besides being wasted hours in her busy schedule, the distance makes it very difficult for her and many others to participate as fully as they would like and to be prepared for their futures.

We are a fast-growing school district and have many more great families on their way as we speak. There are many important and needed items included in this proposed bond. Please vote yes for school bonds during early voting through Nov. 1 or on Election Day on Nov. 5.
