Give it a try

On several occasions now, Jim Stodola has tried to impress all of us with his vast knowledge of the Bible and Christ. Unfortunately, it appears that he either flunked the course or never attended any biblical education.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth, did not come to teach us your socialist agenda. In fact, he told part of the flock that if someone would not work, they did not deserve to eat.

Christ came to restore our connection to the Father by sacrificing himself on the cross and the shedding of his blood.

The most important commandment is to love God with all your heart, mind and soul.

You are to love your neighbor but not their sin. Liberals have a very hard time with that one.

Remember all the vicious attacks and a film assassinating President Bush. Liberals are the thinnest-skinned people you can find but they will be the first to point out the beam in your eye.

Stodola, you might want to do a bit more checking on that McDonald’s and Wendy’s claim. The vast majority of them are locally owned.

It is our neighbors who put their own money at risk and work long hours trying to better their lives. In building their dream, they also provide good jobs for many youths and others who have found careers in that field.

There is also another commandment that liberals seem to ignore. You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor’s.

How about giving that a try?

Al Payne,
