Letters to the editor, May20

The Denton Record-Chronicle welcomes letters to the editor pertaining to the May 27 primary runoff elections. Letters must follow all regular submission rules. Primary runoff election letters must have been received in this office by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 15; none will be published after Tuesday, May 20.

Re-elect Paul Johnson

In the upcoming runoff election for Denton County district attorney, the clear choice is to re-elect Paul Johnson.

He has 22 years experience as a prosecutor and has been our elected district attorney for the last seven years. It is no accident that his office is overflowing with dedicated and talented people who work tirelessly to keep our families safe.

Every single day they use their wealth of knowledge and experience to aggressively and fairly prosecute those accused in our county.

As a resident, I am proud of the Denton County District Attorney’s Office and Paul Johnson as its leader. Please join me in choosing to re-elect Paul Johnson as the Denton County district attorney.

Elizabeth Paul,

Flower Mound

Deadly question

Who are we leaving behind in Afghanistan is an interesting and deadly question.

The Afghans who helped Americans in our war there should be allowed American citizenship.
