Go see theater show
I had the great good fortune last Saturday to attend the opening show of the Denton Community Theatre’s 2016-2017 season, a comedy by Michael Frayn entitled Noises Off.
I almost didn’t go. I had come down with a head cold and was feeling lousy. But I’d been looking forward to the evening for weeks and decided to tough it out. I am so very glad I did.
I have never had such a good time at the theater in my life, and I’ve attended quite a few shows in my time.
Congratulations to the cast and crew. Kudos to directors Buster Maloney and Donna Trammell for a job very well done! I urge you to go see this show. You’ll be so glad you did. There was a good crowd on Saturday night, but I saw empty seats in the house.
Frankly, a show this good deserves to be sold out every performance. Noises Off runs for one more weekend, Thursday through Sunday matinee.
Do yourself a favor and go see it!
Street conditions questionable
Let me get this straight. The interim city manager gives an employee a $90,000 severance package to go away, yet my street looks like the surface of the moon. It’s time for some real-world economics at City Hall.
The outgoing city manager made $300,000 a year. I’ve got 24 years of private sector management experience, and I’ll do the job for half that. Call me.
