Monarch memory

More than 10 years ago, when we lived in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, a flock of monarch butterflies spent the night in our backyard oak tree. It was a huge tree with tan leaves. The butterflies covered the entire tree.

When they folded their wings, they were the same color as the oak tree.

They came in late afternoon and were gone by daylight the next morning. I have always regretted not calling the Wynnewood Gazette to take a picture.

Eugenia M. King,

Elect Emily White

I am pleased to endorse Emily White for the Denton City Council. I have known Emily and her family since she was 4 years old.

Over the years I have watched her grow into an amazing young woman with outstanding values and high ethics as well as a compassion for educating our youth.

She has always shown concern when it comes to city government.

I feel that, should she be elected to the Denton City Council, her dedication and high values for the greater good of Denton will provide immediate improvements to our city.

Betty Peters,
