Now that the city manager and the council are secretly discussing (or are they "investigating") the gas-fired power station ("Power plant contracts under scrutiny," 1 July) will anything else be of interest such as what appeared to be a shenanigan-laden, tax giveaway to a 96-pump filling station? Even after Corinth earlier rejected it in their city limits?
How many readers, how many city staff and how many council members believe Denton can have reliable electrical service without a hydrocarbon-fired power plant? How many believe that sunshine reaches a specific spot on the earth 24 hours a day? How many believe the wind will blow to turn the rotors of an electromagnetic machine 24 hours a day?
