Vote on Confederate memorial

I see in the paper where the Denton County Commissioners Court is discussing the removal of the Confederate memorial on the Square.

The court is discussing the subject and is appointing a couple of committees to make recommendations.

It is felt that some of the committees will be biased in their recommendation and that decisions will not be conscious of the majority of the people.

It is my feeling that Commissioners Court should set a date to have an election to determine the outcome of the memorial.

The vote would be from the people of Denton County and the majority would determine the outcome.

A small group should not be allowed to determine the outcome of the statue that has been on the Square for 100 years.

It is part of history.
