J.C. Penney names new chief for fine jewelry

J.C. Penney Co. has named Pam Mortensen senior vice president and general merchandise manager of fine jewelry.
Since 2002, she was vice president and divisional merchandise manager of Wal-Mart's fine jewelry and watch division. Mortensen's previous retail jewelry business experience includes positions with Service Merchandise and Bailey Banks & Biddle when it was a division of Irving-based Zale Corp.
She started her career in 1977 as a buyer for Sanger-Harris department store in Dallas.
