Zale Corp.'s top marketing and e-commerce executive has left the Irving-based jewelry retailer.

Steve Larkin entered into a separation-and-release agreement just 11 months after he was promoted into the executive vice president position, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

He joined Zale in January 2006 as senior vice president of e-commerce. Larkin will receive severance pay of $651,693 and medical benefits over 18 months, as well as three months of outplacement services.

Prior to Zale, Larkin held senior merchandising and e-commerce positions with ShopNBC, Fingerhut Corp. and several divisions of Macy's Inc.

The same filing announced that longtime Zale executive Cindy Gordon resigned. She was senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.

In January, after the surprise departure of CFO Rodney Carter, Gordon filled in as interim CFO until May when Matthew Appel was brought in. Gordon began her career at Zale in 1994, and she has held various management positions.
