Crystal Charity Ball chairwoman Gloria Eulich Martindale and underwriting chairwoman Aileen Pratt say that next Saturday's 2008 gala has raised a record $5,159,593 for seven children's beneficiaries.

The beneficiaries and the amount guaranteed to each are:

Dallas Services, $486,242; Genesis Women's Shelter, $335,095; Hunger Busters, $335,095; Martin Luther King Jr. Family Clinic, $509,856; St. Philip's Episcopal School and Community Center, $975,000; Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, $978,000; and a Crystal Charity Ball autism program involving UT Southwestern Medical Center, UT Dallas' Callier Center and UTD's Center for BrainHealth, $1.4 million.

Underwriters will be honored at the sold-out black-tie ball at the Hilton Anatole, whose theme is "Visions of Venice."

Crystal Charity Ball, whose active membership consists of 100 women volunteers, has raised around $90 million for children's charities since it was founded in 1952.
