05:04 PM CST on Tuesday, January 6, 2009
A $57,000 stretch limousine that was stolen over the weekend has been located by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.
Detective Michael Ortiz of the North Texas Auto Theft Task Force said around 4 p.m. on Monday a deputy found the luxury limo stripped of all its electronics inside and abandoned on U. S. Highway 80 in Sunnyvale.
The limo had been stolen from a locked storage unit at Security Self Storage in the 3300 block of Forest Lane around 6 a.m. Sunday. The keys were inside the vehicle.
“I’m lucky they found it,” owner Henry Vassei said today, “but everything is gone.”
The limo was towed to a service yard so Dallas police can inspect it for evidence.
