Man accused of stealing federal housing funds is sentenced

A former president of the Metro Housing Partnership in Fort Worth who admitted stealing federal funds has been sentenced to a year in prison, the U.S. attorney's office said Monday.
Kenneth Elliott was sentenced Friday and ordered to pay about $51,000 in restitution, according to Richard Roper's office.
Mr. Elliott, whose job was to disburse funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, admitted stealing nearly $43,000 from Metro Housing Partnership. He admitted using $8,000 to purchase a boat.
Mr. Elliott will begin serving his sentence April 29.
