Traffic backs up as I-30 lanes in Arlington shift for construction

10:30 AM CDT on Tuesday, March 25, 2008

By ERIN EIDENSHINK / The Dallas Morning News

Construction affecting Interstate 30 westbound lanes in Arlington created a sluggish Tuesday morning commute.

About two miles of lanes were shifted Monday evening to accommodate on-going construction.

Temporary lanes were expected to be in place for about a year, according to TxDOT. I-30 eastbound lanes were scheduled to shift later this week.

The lane shifts are part of a $165.5 million project that includes the reconstruction of I-30 main lanes from Cooper Street to Ballpark Way.
