Teen accused of fatal shooting at Arlington party
01:02 PM CDT on Tuesday, March 25, 2008
A 16-year-old will face charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder after a fatal shooting at a party over the weekend, Arlington police said Tuesday.
Police said the Arlington teen, who was taken into custody in Corpus Christi on Monday, was expected to return to Tarrant County next week.
Jesus Cerecerez, 17, of Arlington was fatally shot early Saturday in the 2400 block of Springridge Drive, near State Highway 360, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect is also accused of shooting at two teens inside a vehicle.
Police had initially reported that another teen had also been injured. Police clarified on Tuesday that a 15-year-old had been shot about an hour before the fatal shooting. The two incidents, however, did not appear to be related. The teen was taken to Medical Center of Arlington with non-life-threatening injuries.
