08:29 PM CDT on Thursday, April 19, 2007

From Staff Reports

A motorcyclist remained hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a collision with a school bus carrying 14 students to W.E. Greiner Middle School, Dallas police said.

Shortly before 8 a.m., the school bus was headed west on Canty Street and was proceeding to cross Zang Bouelvard when it collided with a motorcycle heading north on Zang, said Dallas police Senior Cpl. Donna Hernandez.

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old man, was taken to Methodist Medical Center with critical injuries, she said. His helmet had come off during the accident.

The school bus driver and students were not injured, she said.

The accident was under investigation.

W.E. Greiner, located in Oak Cliff, is part of the Dallas Independent School District.
