Tarrant County sheriff hospitalized after falling through ceiling
03:43 PM CDT on Thursday, July 17, 2008
Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson remained hospitalized Thursday after falling through the ceiling at his home while making repairs in his attic.
The 52-year-old sheriff noticed one of the air conditioning units was out Saturday, said Sandra Colwell, the sheriff's executive secretary. “He went up to flip a switch and never got to the switch,” she said.
The plywood gave way and Sheriff Anderson fell through his home’s high ceiling onto a tile floor, fracturing his wrist in two places.
In his absence, executive chiefs Bob Knowles and Mike Johnston are splitting his duties. Sheriff Anderson was expected to be released from the hospital later this week, Ms. Colwell said.
