04:47 PM CDT on Monday, August 10, 2009
A woman and two children were taken to the hospital after their Ford Mustang collided with a marked Dallas police vehicle this afternoon, Dallas police said.
The incident occurred about 1:20 p.m. near the intersection of South Westmoreland Road and Banning Street, about a mile south of Cockrell Hill, police said.
The Mustang was heading south on Westmoreland when it collided with the police car turning from Banning, police said.
The woman was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital and her two passengers, ages 11 and 3, were taken to Children’s Medical Center Dallas to be treated for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, police said. The relationship between the woman and the children was not immediately known.
Police did not say whether the officer, who was not injured, was heading to another call at the time of the accident.
Investigators have not determined who was at fault. No other details were immediately available.
