Crime blog: Developer fingers Don Hill as ringleader in Dallas City Hall trial

06:45 PM CDT on Wednesday, August 12, 2009

The star witness in the Dallas City Hall corruption trial took the stand Tuesday and uttered words that prosecutors have been waiting eight weeks for jurors to hear:

"It's pay to play," James R. "Bill" Fisher, a developer turned FBI informant, told the court. "Simple as that."

Fisher went on to explain that he decided to become an informant after former Mayor Pro Tem Don Hill and his associates defeated some of his affordable housing projects and delayed others while they plied him for inflated contracts and cash payments.

Fisher continues his testimony at 8:30 a.m. this morning. Click below to follow his testimony live. If you are on a mobile device, you can also see the coverage at www.coveritlive.com/mobile and select "Dallas City Hall Corruption Trial" in live events.
