Chaddrick Hunter, 37, also was found not guilty of manslaughter this week.

Mr. Hunter’s pickup struck Mr. Jones, 33, about 2:30 a.m. March 17, 2007, as he was walking along an Interstate 30 service road near Royse City. The singer’s vehicle had reportedly blown a tire and he was searching for a mile marker to call for help.

According to police reports, Mr. Hunter drove on to his parents’ home and returned to the scene of the accident later.

A punishment hearing was scheduled for Dec. 11. Mr. Hunter faces two to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000 for the third-degree felony.
