Leprechaun bandit sentenced to 14 years for bank robberies

A bank robber dubbed the “leprechaun bandit” has been sentenced to 14 years in prison, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Richard Earl Kemp, 27, of Fort Worth, was sentenced Friday and ordered to pay $5,099 in restitution, said U.S. Attorney Richard Roper’s office. Mr. Kemp had pleaded guilty in August to two counts of bank robbery.
Mr. Kemp was responsible for bank robberies in Fort Worth between April and June. He admitted to a Compass Bank robbery on April 2, a Washington Mutual Bank on April 5, a Wells Fargo Bank robbery on April 16th and a Washington Mutual Bank robbery on June 5th, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
He was the dubbed the “leprechaun bandit” because he wore a baseball hat with a shamrock and a leprechaun.
