Jacquielynn Floyd
HOMETOWN: Austin
EDUCATION/CAREER TRACK: Commenced career as an obituary clerk.
Toiled at several ill-paid, small-town newspaper jobs. Served at
the Dallas
Times Herald and joined the The Dallas Morning News in
1990.
MOST UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE ON THE JOB: Rode a blimp over
Norway.
SOMETHING PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME: Can recite the 50 states,
alphabetically, in under 30 seconds. Once worked for a trade magazine
called The
Chuck Wagon. Also, I really like rockabilly music.
IF I HAD TWO SPARE HOURS, I WOULD: Read something.
THE SECRET TO A GOOD NEWS COLUMN IS: If it wasn't interesting to
write, it won't be interesting to read.
