Name: Mardi Allen

Occupation: life coach and founder of Allen Coaching & Training (ACT), specializing in personal and professional development

Birth date and place: Feb. 13, Akron, Ohio

Family: husband, Raymond, 47

The one thing I enjoy most about my work is: motivating and coaching others to reach their full potential and to see them attain life-changing results.

My business philosophy is: to see the best in everybody and to hold onto that until they can see and believe it for themselves.

If I could, I’d be a: I would be doing exactly what I am doing, but I would be reaching more people.

I’m so sick of: I believe words are very powerful and they transform, so I try not to be sick of anything. I would like to see people be more accepting of themselves and others.

The four guests at my fantasy dinner party would be: Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale, Jim Carrey and Gary Zukav.

My hobbies are: skiing (snow), football, traveling, movies, card parties, mystery books on tape, and cars.

The last book I read was: A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle.

I wish I knew how to: ballroom dance.

My worst habit is: falling asleep with the TV on.

Nobody knows I: like to go shooting (target practice), and I am a good shot.

A person I admire is: my seventh-grade English teacher, Mrs. Heiser.

My guilty pleasure is: watching The Real Housewives of Orange County and now New York City.

I drive a: Honda Civic.

I’d like to be driving an: orange Lotus Elise.

My favorite restaurant is: Villa Nova, Newport Beach, Calif.

I’m happiest when: I feel connected to God and I get out of my own way.

I regret: nothing, it is a wasted emotion.

If I won the lottery, here’s what I’d do just for me: purchase a new Lotus and a Z06.

If I could change one thing about Denton, it would be: It would have more groups and activities that revolve around personal development.

When I retire, I plan to: stay active doing what I love and move to a piece of land in the desert, and hang out with my husband!
