It’s almost summer, and teens are beginning to look for part-time work. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, 16- and 17-year-olds can work for any number of hours as long as it is not at a job deemed hazardous by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Youngsters ages 14 and 15 are prohibited from doing work deemed dangerous, such as operating power-driven lawnmowers and other machinery. The number of hours they can work are resticted, and they can only work during certain times of the day.

They now have a 2007 Nissan Murano in their driveway. The company, headquartered in Irvine, Calif., produces a line of wellness products.
Tom Mazzer, general manager of Best Buy in Denton, recently presented an $8,000 donation to Camp Fire’s Camp El Tesoro de la Vida.
The camp — whose name means “treasure of life” — is located in Granbury and offers children ages 6 to 16 a weeklong residency to allow them to grieve the loss of a loved one. The camp provides regular camp activities such as riding, archery and hiking, as well as counseling with a certified professional.
