Don and Nelia Smith of Denton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 30, 2008 with a party on Saturday, August 23, 2008 hosted by their children.
The couple was married on August 30, 1958, in Becton, Texas.
Don works at the University of North Texas on the Biology faculty. Nelia also works at the University of North Texas as a curriculum advisor and in the Journalism Department. They are members of Trinity Presbyterian. Don has been a member of the Denton Airport Board and has worked as an election judge for 40 years.
They have four children: Douglas and wife Kathy of Round Rock, Texas, Gregory and wife Elizabeth of Lewisville, Texas, Brian and wife Donna of Paige, Texas, and Amy Chandler of Justin, Texas. They have 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
