Hank and Annabel Henderson of Shady Shores celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 3, 2009 with a family dinner at their home in Shady Shores. Later this summer the couple plan to travel to Cape Cod.

Hank an emigrant from the Netherlands moved to Canada when he was 19. There he met and married Annabel. The couple was married January 3, 1959 in Grace Gospel Church in Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada. They lived in Newcastle Ontario and were transferred to Dallas, Texas in 1975. They attribute their long married life to the grace and faithfulness of God.

Hank, an entrepreneur has worked in sales and marketing in the United States and abroad, he is now retried and keeps busy on his computer and also enjoys working on the property. Annabel sold real estate for 20 years she worked from home and raised their children. She enjoyed many activities including trail rides and horse shows. She now stays content raising hens as a hobby as well as caring for their family and visiting friends. The couple attends Machaira Bible Church in Carrollton, Texas.

They have 4 children; two sons and two daughters. Richard and his wife Annie reside in Georgia, Caroline lives in Sanger with her six cocker spaniels, Victor resides in Shady Shores and Joan and her husband, Wayne live in Lubbock.
