Assistant director of finance center honored

Danielle Champagne, assistant director of the Student Money Management Center at the University of North Texas, was named Outstanding New Professional by the Texas Association of College and University Personnel Administrators on Nov. 5 at the Marriott Quorum Hotel in Addison.

Champagne received her bachelor’s degree at UNT in finance and business economics and completed a master of education degree at UNT in August. She has been part of the Student Money Management Center staff for two years. Prior to that, she held several graduate assistant positions in UNT’s Division of Student Development, the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Learning Center.

The money management center opened in 2005 to provide students with tools and solutions to achieve financial freedom and financial literacy. Administered by the Division of Student Development, the center offers workshops and online resources on a wide range of money management topics, including budgeting, apartment leases, college and living expenses, credit cards, car buying and student loan repayment strategies.
