Tanner and Tyler Simon, sons of Dennis and Sharon Simon of Denton, were named Ouachita Scholars at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark.
The scholarship program awards incoming students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance. It is renewable for four years and is awarded based on a high level of academic achievement and standardized tests scores.

Texas A&M University has named its honor students for the fall semester. The dean’s honor roll recognizes students taking at least 15 semester hours during the fall semester who have maintained a 3.75 or higher grade-point ratio out of a possible 4.0.
A second designation, distinguished student, recognizes those who earned a 3.5 to 3.74 grade-point average while taking at least 15 hours for the fall semester.
Dean’s honor roll students include Heather Ann Winkle, Emily Anne Attaya and William Troy Farris, Philip M. Adamson, Patrick Andrew Armstrong, Rebecca Ruth Deetjen, Thomas Alan Deetjen and Kaitlin Marie Burke, all of Denton. Tyler Jack Curbo and Marilee K. Lucas of Denton were named to the distinguished honor roll.
