Stephen F. Austin State University students Geoffrey Paul Taylor, Rebecca Lynn Walters and Brion Christopher Watkins, all of Denton, were recently named to the college’s dean’s list for the fall semester. To qualify, they maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 while attending a full-time course load.

Megan Self of Bartonville, daughter of Carol Self and a 2006 graduate of Argyle High School, was named to the president’s list at UNT for the fall semester.

She maintained a 4.0 grade-point average while attending a full-time course load.

She was also recently accepted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.

Katherine F. Bowers of Denton and Alycia Johnson of Sanger were recently inducted into the Oklahoma State University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi national honor society.

To qualify, students must be among the top 10 percent of students at their college and be within two semesters of graduation.

Jeremy McDonald of Denton, a senior marketing major at West Texas A&M University in Can­yon, was a member of the college’s Students in Free Enterprise team that took a high score at the Students in Free Enterprise USA Regional Competition on March 27 in Rogers, Ark.

Whitney Britton of Argyle, a senior and chemical engineering major at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was recently installed as a charter member of the Xi chapter of Tau Beta Pi, a national engineering honorary society.

To be eligible, she maintained high grades and demonstrated leadership abilities.

Jordan Land of Denton was awarded a $1,000 Leadership Scholarship by Chick-fil-A. Land, who is studying emergency medical technology at North Central Texas College, works at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Denton.

Hilary J. Krebsbach of Argyle, a student at St.Francis University in Loretto, Pa., was named to the college’s dean’s list for the fall semester. To qualify, she maintained an average of at least 3.5 while attending a full-time course load.

Brittany Odom of Krum, Kyle Peacock of Pilot Point and Kimberly Kuykendall of Valley View received undergraduate degrees during December commencement ceremonies at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

Stephanie Davis of Aubrey, Grant Leach, Aaron Mouser and Davie Riley of Denton, Gretchen Etteridge of Pilot Point, Jennifer Keel of Providence Village, Erin Sisco and Devin Wilson of Sanger and Charee Stobaugh were named Distinguished Students for the fall semester at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. To qualify, they maintained minimum grade-point averages of 3.25, with no grade lower than C.
