Grace Sharp of Argyle received a $1,500 college scholarship from the Scholarships for Military Children program. She attends James Madison University and is scheduled to graduate in 2012. She is involved in Marching Royal Dukes, JMU Eco-Community, Campus Crusade for Christ and the Gen-Ed Student Conference. She is also on the president’s list.

Patrick Wilson, a recent graduate of Aubrey High School, was awarded the Freshman Incentive scholarship to attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

The scholarship is funded through Alva, Okla.’s Economic Development Sales Tax Initiative Grant. He will also receive participation scholarships for band, theater and choir. Wilson plans to major in music. He is the son of Martha and Harold Wilson of Aubrey.

Morgan Sykes and Ethan McClure of Denton were among 13 college students from the North Texas area who recently received $1,000 scholarships through Chick-fil-A’s national leadership scholarship program. The restaurant chain plans to give $1.9 million in $1,000 scholarships to students this year.

McClure received his scholarship from franchise operator Matt Listi at the restaurant at Denton Towne Crossing. Sykes received a scholarship from Chick-fil-A franchise operator Jason Driscoll at the restaurant at Founders Square in Flower Mound. The scholarships were given to employees to encourage them to seek higher education.

  • Make sure "InPrivate Filtering data" is checked
  • Click the "Delete" button.
  • Click the "OK" button to exit the internet options window.
  • Refresh the page
