Instructor chosen to lead native plant group

Texas Woman’s University chemistry and physics faculty member Cynthia Maguire was recently chosen as president-elect of the Native Plant Society of Texas.

Maguire will serve as president of the organization in 2011 and as past president in 2012. Her responsibilities will include organizing the society’s annual meeting, which will take place Oct. 7-10 at TWU and will celebrate the organization’s 30th anniversary.

The October symposium is an environmental education event and is open to the public. It will show participants how to practice sustainable landscaping on their property and in their communities.

Celebration to highlight student research

The Texas Woman’s University School of Occupational Therapy student honor society, Pi Theta Epsilon-Dallas Chapter, will host its 18th annual Celebration of Scholarship from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 16.

The event, which showcases student research, will take place in the auditorium of the School of Occupational Therapy at TWU’s Presbyterian campus, 8194 Walnut Hill Lane in Dallas.

Registration is $50 prior to April 2 and $65 after that date.

Admission is free for students, but registration is required.

Those attending the conference will have the opportunity to earn 6.3 continuing education credit hours.

  • Make sure "Preserve Favorites website data" is unchecked.
  • Make sure "InPrivate Filtering data" is checked
  • Click the "Delete" button.
  • Click the "OK" button to exit the internet options window.
  • Refresh the page
